about DNA
Working for the Downtown Neighborhood
The Downtown Neighbors Alliance (DNA) is an organization representing the interests of downtown residents. We are made up of leaders in the civic space downtown, supported by condo associations and community partners, and dedicated to your quality of life. Our footprint covers all of downtown, from the Miami River north to the Venetian Causeway, and from Biscayne Bay west to Overtown.
Our focus is on making sure downtown gets the resources and attention it needs. We protect our community open spaces, advocate for measures to mitigate traffic, push to make sure we have sufficient public safety resources, work towards more school options for downtown parents, stand for responsible development, and engage our local government agencies in making sure our community is not neglected. We also work to provide information and resources to condo association leaders as it relates to their service on their respective boards.
We are of, for and by the downtown residents. We do not control any local services, but try to influence those who do to take care of our neighborhood. We aim to empower those who live, work and play here to engage in civic issues and make a positive impact.
The DNA has been focused on this mission since 2013.
Our footprint contains an estimated 39,000 residents.
